Not A Good Day

Saturday, Sunday and Monday March 14th-16th 2020

I haven't been blogging because sometimes we aren't doing that much and haven't been up to par.  How should I be at my age?  I don't know however I'm okay now.

Saturday was a beautiful day at the start.  I think there were some crazy clouds.  We are getting  Kona winds from the south and that means more humidity and rain.

We had breakfast on the lain.  We have found some very good Belgian waffles.  They are a Safeway product.

Just put them in the toaster and you got a breakfast.

After we ate, we sit on the lani, enjoying our coffee.  We saw a whale breaching.  I got a picture of a whale in a good breach.

Okay I know you can't see that whale even if you zoom in.  So how about those clouds.
There that's my whale pic of the day.

We went down to join the thirty something on the green bowl.  Most of these people just lay here all day.  They turn like they are on an rotisserie.

Okay not many thirty somethings here, just a father playing corn hole with his sun.  This kid beat his father.  Some day you're going to see this kid playing pro baseball or football.  Just screwing around, he throw over hand like pitching and threw a fast ball (bean bag) that not only hit the board but knocked his father bag off the board.

Since we didn't do anything I've more pics just one more with an awesome sunset.

As I said in the morning just look at those cloud.
That was our Saturday.

Sunday March 15th 2020.

Sunday morning looks like any other day.  The weather men have been giving flood warning every day and we just get a little rain here and there.

Hey look there is a whale jumping out there, just kidding.  More clouds and a little rain.

Now come with me as we go over to Dukes tonight.  Yup that's right, we didn't do much.  Maybe I was under the weather.  Oh we did spend two hours in the morning talking to a Delta rep trying to get home earlier.  They have been saying there would wave changes to change flight plans.  Not true. with the change in prices, it would have cost us $1200, No thank you. We will leave on the red eye!

This was the first time we went over to Dukes at dusk.  We were hoping for a beautiful sun set.  That didn't happen.
We entered with the torches lit.

The place was packed.

Most women and young girls had dresses on and the men dressed like- what can I say.  I've got it slobs.  Bingo.  We were all dressed up, just ask Reagan.  Oh we sent her a pic of us dressed up.  Like taking pics of our food sometimes I forget. We ordered our drinks and Clela ordered jumbo coconut shrimp as an appetizer.  While we were waiting they brought warm muffins.  The muffins had poi in them giving a purple color

Our drinks arrived I had Duke lemonade and Clela had an margarita.

For our entree arrived with Clela's having fish and shrimp warped in a banana leaf.

I had a Duroc Pork ribs.

Happy Birthday Clela.  This was last years birthday present.

Beautiful night as we left the restaurant.

We were walking hand in hand.  It was a very dark. We got in our car and drove out only to find out we were locked in with no way to get out. The road was gated.

Yup there is no way to get around this.  I got out and low and behold A chain and lock were in place.  So we found a parking spot close to the gate.  We lock the car and walked back to our resort.  It wasn't far, just on the other side of the food trucks.  Clela said she never walked that far in years, but she did it.  I went to the main desk at our resort and a young lady made several phone calls, she wrote down a number, and when I get to the gate I was to call the park ranger.  So I walked back to the park and the gate, I called the ranger.  Nope that was an incomplete number.  So I walked over the the strip where they were several stores and places to eat.  I said do you know what area code we are in.  No one did knew.  So off I went to our resort and back to the desk and told her my number was incomplete.  She apologized and off I went back to the gate.  Yes a park ranger.  He wasn't to happy. I said I didn't even know it was a park.  I gave him the story of it was her birthday and we ate at Dukes for the first time at night.  He said okay go over to the gate and look close at the lock.  It was locked but not attached.  Yup it wasn't locked it just looked like it was. Well feeling like a fool I thanked him ten time and started to open the gate when another car like us were locked in.  Good timing  for them.  They thank me and drove through. I did as well after putting the gate back as I found it.
That was our Sunday.

Monday March 16th 2020

Monday morning there was a beautiful sun rise.  Look at all the pink in the clouds.

Clela went down to the coffee shop and bough back their egg mc muffin, sorry Jimmy we have a new egg mc muffin.

We had to do a little shopping.  We got the car filled up and also went to Safeway.  I was expecting to see long line of people waiting to get in.  As we walked in we saw one women with a cart over flowing.  I took some pics as we did our shopping.

I only saw two shelves emty. Lots of food here.

WE had lunch on the lani with an open faced sandwich.

After lunch and a rest, when siting on the lani, we had what looked like a parade of boats sailing by.  Why were all those going by.

I got my binoculars out and what I saw was a large group of dolphins were swimming by.

For supper we leftovers from Dukes.
That was our past three days.
See ya.
