The Oscars

We got up today.  It always is good day if you get up.  A good cup of coffee will solve that on this
beautiful day, what more do you need.

It's a nice day to eat out on the balcony, but we decided to eat out this morning.  We have been going past this restaurant ever since 1993.  Every time we walked past this restaurant it looked so dark in there, we never went in.  Maybe the name had something to add Java Jazz.  Popular place with reasonable prices.

Great thick Hawaiian toast topped with large slice of cream cheese and topped with a raspberry glaze. There are some interesting eclectic items that decorate the cafe and coffee shop,  

 A wine bottle light fixture chandelier. One wall is covered with pictures.

Little did we know how popular this cafe was.  We arrived at the right time because when we left it was full.  We will be back. The Cafe is just across the street. We did some face time with Reagan, who was busy studying. 

Our next stop was a Sunday Craft show.  Last year at this same craft fair there was s sudden rain and wind storm.  We had just ordered crapes when this great wind storm hit.  The large umbrella took off and flew across four lanes of traffic and into a parking lot. Some young ladies had a booth with their paintings and thought of Kathy.

 I can make that.

Clela did make a purchase today.  She bought a neckless.  Beautiful.  She did a little bargaining.

It didn't work, but hey you have to try.  I have tried in the past.  I say how much and they would say 

$25. I would say fine I'll give you $30.  That's a good deal, right? Also bought some local coffee, just roasted if you believe the vendor.

Our next stop was buying grocery at Safeway. I just have one picture of something.

It's a type of squash.  Back to the condo for lunch.

Clela likes to get a newspaper on Sunday. We didn't leave the condo for the rest of the day because we wanted to watch the Oscars

We didn't go any where because of the Oscars.  The show started at three in the afternoon.

Wow what a song.  It was like they were the only two people in the room.  When you watch TV with that big of screen it makes you feel like your there. Now watching on Wes and Kathy's eight foot screen is something else.

When you watch TV that long you lose track of time.  At least we could stay wake to watch the whole show. 

We ate dinner (supper to me), after the show.  Clela made a real big meal for us..

Chicken Fettuccine and veges made from scratch.  OK if you look behind the wine you realize there was more than carrots .  That was our day.  See you soon.

Oh To Be Young Again and Landry
The first thing Clela and I do is go out on the balcony just to see what the day looks like. Clela goes out to give a prayer for each day. I go out for a pic to give myself and idea of what to write each day.  Well I must say, sometimes I just can't think what to write for the heading.  Sometimes it takes something we do. As you can see today I have no pic of the day.
The weather is warm so we are eating outside.

Take a look at this because I made breakfast. You have scrambled eggs with spam, toast in my case with Irish butter and Kula Strawberry Jam from up country (in the mountains), Mango from maybe the other side of "the wall", peaberry coffee from just up the mountain from our resort and Passion Orange Nectar that has the first ingredient of water and high fructose corn syrup.  That means sugar, sugar passion fruit.  Clela puts Lilikoi  passion fruit cream cheese from some place on the island. We are so blessed.
It's is laundry day.  For two people we sure do produce so much, that means we are very, very clean, right?  Okay we do shower a lot.  We did manage to spend sometime outside in the bowel.  (Clela's laughing her ass off again) Should have said bowl!

We found some shade under palm trees.  I don't think we realize how nice it is.  You have this warm gentle breeze blowing. We sat there for a while until the shade moved.  So I had to move.  We marveled at the young parents who moved so easily.  Clela said what she would give to be that age, maybe keep our wisdom but to be young again. So here we are.

Clela and her face lift and me just so everyone could see my eyes.  Kathy always said exaggerate your smile.   Okay we're working on it. don't we look mighty fine, I mean for our age? Really, come on. I said we just spent a little time outside and it's now twelve thirty, you know it's thirty minutes late. 
For lunch we ate on the balcony.  I think that's our first lunch outside.  Now don't remind me if we already have eating lunch outside because I can't remember.  Oh to be young again.

Now take a look at that sandwich.  I made that sandwich.
Clela had left over burrito.  Should I show it. really OK.

Well there we are, last nights food was great. 
After a rest we went back down to the ocean.  I must say by now you must realize there is something that keeps drawing us back. 

Here I like how the ocean shines like crystals or perhaps silver.

Someday I will capture a scene that that gives you real color. I just remember we broadcast around the resort yesterday.  Will have to try that again.  If you want to see our live broadcast just join me on Instagram.  We did have problems with losing our Internet connection.
We took a walk over to a bench where your mother had a mishap last week.

See this small root that is broke.  We were getting up to leave and she caught her sandal on that root and down she went.

 She knocked this flower over and water went flying.  I told her it had to much water in it anyway.  Just to let you all know she is alright.  Her leg had a bruise on it that is all most gone. This all happen almost a week ago.

When we were sitting there before I knew the root was there but didn't say anything.
Back to the condo no falling today. 

We finish up the final load of laundry.  As we were finishing up dinner I notice the sun was painting our resort, almost red in color.

We knew we were close to sun set so off we went, not to fast.  Fast is not our speed.

Wow, here is what we saw when we left our condo.  The sun hitting the mountains.
People always gather to watch the sunset.  It's like going to a movie. 

When we got to the corner the the tiki's were being lit.  Maybe I should make the picture larger.

 People sit on the ledge every night so watch the sunset.
By the time we got back to our condo it was dark.  Just two old people walking slowly into the sunset, holding hands just to hold each other up.  Oh to be young again.  See you soon

The Mountain Tops Of Molokai
This morning was overcast, but as I was preparing to take a daily picture and I notice the tops of the mountain were clear.  Also the sun was shining on them.  You say soooo.  The sun wasn't shining here.  I'm sorry I couldn't get a good picture but here is what it looks like.

Zoom in just beyond the palm trees.  I wish there was a camera that could capture what you see. Okay what do I expect from a phone camera.  Fifteen minute later "shazam".

Okay maybe it was a half hour later.  What magic.
It was so nice we ate breakfast outside.

I slipped the top of my breakfast so you could see what is inside. We had scrambled eggs, Canadian bacon, American cheese and topped off with a slice of tomato.  For the first time we had a mango for our fruit.  Yum!!
Our plains for today was get down to the ocean early so we could find two lounge chairs.  Low and behold we found three.

Looking out there, the tide is really down.  I could see there is a flat ledge, so I planned ahead and had my water sandals on. I went out to investigate.  I could now look both ways up and down the beach.

Now I know there are three reefs running parallel to the shore.  You could,'t see the third one but there was a shadow out there.  The sun really helps.  And yet you can't believe the damage to the shoreline.  On the first reef it first looked like sand but because of idiots like me it's just brown.  Okay being close to the beach and exposed to the air it was dead along time ago.  

You can see the edge of the reef.  The total height is about six inches.

I also notice there small holes in the reef that holds small rocks and if you look real close some holds have small fish swimming around.  Just looked in the above pic. and nothing there.  I guess if your going to talk about it you should have a pic.  Okay I promise I'll get a picture.  Once again in one ear and out the other.  Getting older or should I say in my case more mature, you do know I plan on living until 105.  If you can survive to a hundred and five look at all the thrills out of being alive if you are among the young at heart.  A verse from Frank Sinatra.  I bought the 45 record when I was about twelve.  We had a record player but didn't have the adapter to play it.  Finally we got that adapter and I could play my record.  Back to our day.

We got back to our condo, ate lunch and rested (nap) until about three. We put our swimming (shits) spelling error caught by Clela who laughed so hard she cried.  Should have said suits. On and then made a drink. 

Then headed for the pool.  Finding no lounge chairs in shade, we went to the center area and found two chairs under some palm trees.  We should come here more.  We stayed there until five.  While packing up we heard music.  I asked Clela where it was coming from.  She said there is live entertainment at the oceans pool.  When we got there we found out they were playing inside the restaurant.  We sat down and listen to the two women playing.

Lets see if we can here them playing.  Well I tried but I couldn't upload the voice file.  Oh well let's hope that someday blogger software will work on sound and videos.  I think my video is so high res.  

Next we planned to eat out (Clela plans everything).  She is up for hire.

Yup that is right.  That would be food trucks which are along the road just outside our resort.  I don't know how long the will last because they are right out in front some very expensive resorts.  I thought there would be no one here.  Was I surprised.

There was no place to sit it was crowded.  We ordered quesadillas and burritos which we took back to our condo.  

Great meal, not that cheap but much less than eating in a restaurant.
