2016 Swap meet

Day 7

We thought yesterday day was nice but we were wrong.  Sometimes you can look out there and know this is going to be a very good day. 

Everything is sharp, a small breeze blowing and the birds are singing.  Birds flock to the trees to sleep every night. About 5:30 when it's still dark you first hear one bird then many start to a roar a Crescendo of birds.  Their is an excitement like they are greeting each for the first time.  We know you don't want to be under the palms when they wake up. 

Any morning you can set out there, when it's warm and nice it's special. 

Breakfast 

Nothing special about today's breakfast. It just seems to taste better. 

This cream cheese is the best. We buy it at the farmers market or in our case the framers market store.  Don't worry we will go to this market in the next two weeks. 

Swap meet

We go to Kahulai college for the swap meet. It takes us about 45 minutes to get there.  In the past we would park way out and walk in. This year we parked in student parking across from the meet.

Why am I showing you this ground cover in the parking lot.  Well you are looking at ground up auto glass.  Yup that's right auto glass. Click on the picture and zoom in.  Hey it keeps the weeds down and it drains well. 

It cost .50 cents each.  Their must be at least several hundred booths, some selling food and drink. 

You know we all ways have a plan. We wanted a small koa bowl for my dresser and of course my gold necklace. Ya I'm still trying. I have come down with my expectations of all gold, l will look for plated gold instead.

It's even got spark plugs inside. Okay this is not a necklace. I found my first one a couple booths down from here.  You always think you will find something better later but later never comes. Thanks to Clela who said gene did you like that and I said yes so we went back a bought it. 

Okay so it is stainless steel not gold and it didn't break the bank. You remember I said maybe you will find something better later well I did.  Did I take the first one back. No I like them both. 

It's gold don't cha know, that is plated gold. Didn't break the bank. This is weird because I never buy jewelry for my self.  Is this a sign of buying something on a whim.  Is this senility setting in?  Stay toon. You can always tell me when it's time..... 

We bought some fruit, papaya and looked at some avocado. 

  Man those avocado were big. We had two more stops here. One for a snack of Samosas. They come with spicy beef or chicken or veggies in a triangles pie.

 We put salsa on them.   At last we had to get some Kona Dark Chocolate Almond Macaroons. Oh so good. Now if we discipline our eating of just one a day, they will last until the end of our vacation. Do you believe that?

 

It was very hot here. Seems funny to say that. If has been cool most of the week, but today and yesterday it started to warm up. You know we haven't used the air yet. I say that like it's going to work. It only works when the patio doors are in a certain spot. Well we have no certain spot. We think it's turned off and we can't turn it on.  But that's ok, it's is much better than last year. We don't need it. 

Lunch

For the last two years we have stopped to eat at Leodus Kitchen and pie shop in the country. We alway order a chicken pot pie. It's not a typical pie.  Different veggies. 

Great lunch. By the time we left there was people waiting out the door.  

I think this place started just selling pies.  Oh what pies! Stop here too much and your waist will expand real fast.  We stopped at the grocery store to get something for supper.  You know something fresh like a frozen meal just kidding.  We got some skewers of chicken. You just don't go to the store to buy something like that at home. 

When we got back to our condo we, the old people, took a nice nap.  

Sunset

After supper we went down to the ocean to whale watch.  What a great time we had. They were breaching all over the ocean. There were four boats on sunset cruises. There were chasing competitive pods in a real fight. You've got a bunch of males trying to get close to a female. The people on those cruises got the trip of their lives. Well here's the sunset. 

Well that's it for the day.
