 A Day Of Travel

Wednesday February 10th

Any time you travel in the winter there is always a chance of you getting caught in bad weather.  We lucked out we were in between that gave us a beautiful day.

Our Go Rite driver was there on time. We had our bags checked in  with no problems.  You know how I love technology so I was (I thought) very excited to see this in action.  the TSA officer does not check your ID and your first boarding all this was by done by sliding your ID in a slot and your itinerary and ID is verified comes up.  This speeds up the TSA lines. Well the change was not in Milwaukee.  Clela in a wheelchair was wand twenty thousand times.  Okay she does have that look.  They wand all the way down to her butt crack several times.  They always check her extra most times when going through TSA.

Our flight to Minneapolis was short and sweet.  Now most of the construction is over.  Anytime we land here there is a walk from St. Paul to Minneapolis.  When we were there the last time there was this powered cart to take us to our gate.  They would spot us with our tongues hanging out. Now if you ever have to walk along beside these people you better have your running shoes on and in shape.  Now I will never show I was on my last leg and I was.  I gave him a tip on my wobbly legs.  Now please don't get me wrong, this group are the nicest people you ever want to meet.

Off we went to Seattle we went.  After we were flying for they came around with snacks.  I this plastic bag was a bottle of water, a bag of cookies and a bag of nuts. This is was appropriate when living through pandemic.

Then our meal came out.

Now about this time I was real hungry.  Now here you have  a bag of chips, and hummus.    I would have liked cheese but there was hummus. Hummus, hummus, hummus.   I had to use hummus.  Do you remember what your child first BM. That's hummus?  Well I ate everything, every chip and yes hummus. It is amazing what you will do if your hungry. I hope I never eat hummus again.

In Seattle we had a short walk to our gate, thus we had time to eat.  There was McDonald's. We went over to several stations to order our and pay by credit card.  Our meal came up very fast, this was a new experience for us.

Next stop Maui.  Our plane was a sleeping beds or recliners.

Clela thinks they are coffins.  The seat goes up and down to a flat position.

In the down position and with a pillow and blanket you can sleep.

We had a plane like this a couple years when we flew from Maui to Atlanta.
After taking off from Seattle we are on our last leg of about thirteen hours of flying.  They started to bring out sacks.  Yup the same snacks as our last flight.  I think about a half hour later out came our meal.

Upon arriving in Maui we had to go though Hawaii travel safely to check if we had all our credentials in order. We need a negative COVID test within 72 hours of our last flight, we had to fill out a questionnaire and to get QR code that told them we jumped through all there hoops. All of this caused us great worry. When we first looked into test we could only go to a preferred site for the test and there we only one the Milwaukee area.  You needed a test appointment three days form the time you  left Seattle. as we got closer to making a appointment we found out that our local Walgreens gave the test. The results came from the a lab,  Mine results came in three hours and Clela never got her results. Lucky we had some time to do some research we found a web site link to tell the labs results never came back.  We also called Walgreens Pharmacy and he said he had the results were negative and he would give us copy.
Still worrying we got a through fast with no problems.  Off we went to the car rental and off to the condo,  That was our day so see you later.
