February 22nd 2018 A Gray Day And A Star Day

Today when we got up our day in Maui was and is a gray day.  It has rained all day.  My blog for today is only our noon lunch.  Last week we made a reservation through Yelp to eat at Star Noodle. No reservation and they try to squeeze you into a corner some place.  Today people waited outside on a bench for an hour.

This nontraditional restaurant that is located in an industrial park and it looks like any other small business. Once you get inside the restaurant vibe gives you the impression of a mod upscale place.

We took this picture when we first got here at 11:00 this morning.  Yes 11:00 in the morning is the only choice we had. We ordered drinks. My drink was an Strawberry Lemon Soda. Clelas drink was a Pineapple Lime Soda.

Do you notice a fork on my plate?  If you don't ask you won't get one.

We ordered  Steam Pork Buns for an appetizer.  When they came and we took off the cover off.  Now I might say Clela went on line and figured out what we wanted to eat.  If you know me I never like Japan or Chinese food.

The outside was a soft bun.  I mean it would just melt in your mouth.  The onions, carrots and cabbage were pickled.  You got to try it.  Even I really liked it.

My food order came first, Teriyaki Chicken.

You know here we are in an industrial park and our food is presented like this.  The presentation, so beautiful, made the food taste better to me.

Next came Clelas food order, Lahaina Fried Soup.  Not soup at all but the food was excellent .

You have Bean sprouts, onions, pork and the tick long pieces are rice flour noddles.  We had to ask what they were, however Clela thought they were rice flour something.  There was so much food we took our left overs back to our condo.

When Clela looked at the menu online she saw they had Masada's .  Okay we were full.  We never have desert but since our desert was small.

They came with dipping choice of chocolate, peanuts and Carmel.  We did take two home.  My advice would be to eat them at the restaurant.  They are warn puffy being freshly made.

Now you can see the restaurant is all most full.  When we left there were people waiting outside.

After we got back and we went down stairs because the craft fair was here.  Just like I said last week Clela had to mull over buying that visor.  We she bought it.

The hat is hand painted.

We did go down to the ocean and this is what I saw.

We were only there a few minutes when the rain started.  We packed up and instead of going back to our condo we went over to the the resort next door to see how the beach restoration was going.

It seems to be coming along quite well.  Okay I think this guy is an Australian Aborigine.  The only thing he forgot was his spear.

Well that was our day.  See you tomorrow.
