February 9th 2018 Into the Valley

This morning was another cool day.  Now I know it's not your cold, but the wind is coming from the north at maybe twenty five miles per hour.  Not good for just pj's.  No one swimming this morning.

I'm someone who has a routine.  You know coffee, the Today Show and breakfast.  Here is Clela making breakfast. Spam again.

Yes that is Eggo's and spam.  Try it you'll like it.

I have lots of pictures to show.  So here we go.  Clela and I have decided to go up to Iao Valley State Park.  Now you might say you do that every year.  No we don't. This is the first time the park has been open since 2016.  That year they had rain and floods to the point that all the roads in the park were washed out.  Now if you ever been there, that is unbelievable.  It took them two years to rebuild it.

If you look at the stones near the water you'll see they are now encased in cement.  Area above them you'll see a pink gray, that is concrete  that has been sprayed over a rubber mat.

All the walkways were new blacktop .  Otherwise it's the same.

Still working on selfies.
Well Clela decided we would go down into the lower part.  I was worried for her.  She has gone through so much since the last time she was able to make this walk.  We took our time to make the trip.  We stop every now and then.  You know I saw  more.
We just crossed the bridge when we saw three guys going down by the creek.

They jumped into the water.  We talked to them later and said the water was real cold.  They said one area had a four foot drop off.

Along the way we saw lots of banana trees.

The bottom is a purple blossom with the bananas growing on top.

They have plenty of benches along the way.

Here is a close up of that concrete.  I'm in awe that this was all under water.

Well we made it up and in good spirits.

We left the park and stopped by a small stand and bought some banana bread

On our way back we stopped at Leodas restaurant for our chicken pot pie.

Yum that is so good.

That was our day.  See you tomorrow.
